Explanation: I was inspired by a quote from Victor Hugo: “to love beauty is to see light”. I wanted the light to take a bigger role than in most beauty shots. I also wanted the styling to reinforce the idea of lightness, so the model’s hair has an airy feel.
Melissa Rodwell’s Critique: Very interesting beauty shot. Great choice in model and the use of hair with the backlighting is a great idea! Love the side light too! Overall just really dig the lighting. Great job, Martin!
Very interesting photograph, kinda sparks my interest since the face is mainly lit from underneath.
Her expression kinda dictates shes idle and the overall photo gives that fragile feeling to it.
